FASCINATING INSIGHTS INTO LIFE

There are full of negative perceptions about life. And we take everything for granted without much appreciation. We tend to dig into others' weaknesses simply to glorify ourselves. Instead, we should ponder over their plight as a lifeline for our successful and harmonious future endeavours. "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give" Sir Winston Churchill

BoNE ScaRE

I was shocked to read an article entitled "The Big Business of Body Parts" appeared in September issue Reader’s Digest. Human bones and tissue had been illegally removed from the deceased without the consent of their immediate family. These body parts were used in surgical transplants without furnishing the recipient with a detailed background of the dead. It was potentially hazardous to health as the dead might be suffering from chronic ailments like cancer, AIDS and other terminal diseases.

It is inhuman and degrading to mishandle indiscriminately the deceased body in our so-called civilized society. The dead need to be treated with the greatest respect.

I thought this illicit trade was carried out only in poor country like India where the dead bodies were fished out from the river, cleaned and sold as cadaver for anatomical dissection (previously, I heard…).

This lucrative business of bones and tissue culture in turn will give rise to illegal human body parts trafficking. It’s appalling!! May this horrific new crime be a real eye-opener for all. All attempts must be made to stamp out a proliferation of body stealing.
